Heaven's majesty is close at hand, extraordinary the weather:

In alluding to the Shang-lin park 上林苑, the poet is doubtless referring to
the Japanese imperial gardens. Shang-lin park in ancient China was a beautiful
imperial garden in the western part of the capital city Ch'ang-an, established
in the third century B.C. It was enlarged by Wu Ti in Han times, about a
hundred years later. At this park, successive emperors enjoyed such pastimes
as hunting, fishing, and gathering herbs and flowers.

* 印持（ ～明治３年） 僧（真宗）。鹿砦と号した。越中富山本願寺派勝善寺の僧、宗乗を快楽院柔遠に学び文政十二年京に上り初めて学林に唯識三十論述記を講じ、尓来天保三年には往生論註を同四年には文類聚鈔を講じ嘉永二年の六月に勧学に昇階し万延元年には易行品を講じて本講師の職責を全うしている。明治三年に入寂。印定勧学はその兄である。（嘉永五
